To register for classes, you must already be accepted to Ivy Tech and meet with your advisor. When you’re ready to create your official schedule and register for classes, log into the Schedule Builder in the MyIvy student portal.
Visit the How to Register for Classes page for more information. All nursing school applicants are required to take the TEAS exam. TEAS testing must be completed by the published application deadline to be considered for the current application period.

Indiana Online has partnered with Ivy Tech Community College and Trine University to offer select high school courses for dual credit. Students may choose to earn credit for high school courses and earn college credit at the same time before graduating from high school.

About The Nursing Program
A student must meet the prerequisites prescribed by the institution. ASN graduates are qualified to work in hospitals, nursing and residential care facilities, home health care, doctors’ offices, schools and health departments. Registered nurses are the largest of the health care occupations, with employment “projected to grow 16 percent from 2014 to 2024, much faster than the average for all occupations,” according to the
-Office of Labor Statistics. Completion guides provide recommended pathways to graduation, broken down into 8-week periods. The number of courses is also counted to show the total number for students who take fewer classes at a time.
Please consult with your advisor to determine which classes are the best option for you. Guidelines for completion may vary by campus/location based on clinical availability. In addition to Indiana Online tuition ($250 CIESC member schools; $275 non-member schools, if applicable), there will be no additional cost to the student for dual credit.
The student may be responsible for purchasing the textbook or accessing online content required for the course. This unique opportunity allows Indiana online students to establish a college transcript prior to graduation from high school and begin the transition to the rigors of college coursework.
Options That Lead To Your Future
Credits earned at Ivy Tech and Trine can be transferred to colleges and universities across the state. Dropped Courses – Courses you drop are eligible for a 100% tuition refund if you drop on or before the 100% tuition refund date listed for your course duration below.
If the student withdraws from all of his classes during the 100% refund period, the technology fee and consumption fees will be refunded. If the student enrolls in any class after the 100% refund period, the technology fee will not be refunded.
How will this affect me? Qualified high school students can earn a two-year associate degree in less than a year in this nationally recognized full-time program. 100% of our ASAP (Associate Accelerated Program) students have been accepted to one or more 4-year colleges!
Unauthorized Withdrawal (FW) – A course from which you unofficially withdraw is considered a grade of F when you stop attending/participating before the last day of the course. These courses are not eligible for tuition refunds.

How will this affect me? The licensed practical nurse (LPN) is an integral part of the health care team. A technical certificate in practical nursing can be earned on the way to an Associate o
f Applied Science degree.
Many available jobs require this certificate. This program provides education in conceptual and technical skills in preparation for the role of licensed practical nurse. The curriculum is designed to develop competence in general and technical nursing skills and understanding of concepts.

The practical nursing program leads to a technical certificate that can be completed in one year. Ivy Tech Community College is the nation’s largest single-accredited state community college. It is the state’s largest public postsecondary institution, serving more than 200,000 students each year.
Ivy Tech has 30 degree-granting campuses and more than 75 training centers throughout Indiana. The nursing program at Ivy Tech has a selective admissions process. Limited enrollment programs in nursing and health sciences have a separate application process and the programs accept only a limited number of students each year.
After applying to Ivy Tech, you will be admitted to the pre-nursing certification program while completing course prerequisites. Graduates of the Practical Nursing program are eligible to apply for the NCLEX-PN licensure exam. Graduates who successfully pass the NCLEX-PN exam can begin their nursing career, continue their education at Ivy Tech, or continue in an LPN to ASN conversion course of study.
The catalog is designed to make planning and scheduling a degree program as simple as possible. Additional help is available from academic advisors and students are encouraged to meet regularly with their advisors to ensure they are on track for graduation.
Faculty and academic advisors provide academic advising; However, each Ivy Tech Community College student is ultimately responsible for understanding and completing all degree requirements.
