In the co*cktail world, there is both Black Russian and White Russian co*cktails. Neither co*cktail hasorigins in Russiabut their name comes from the vodka that is a key ingredient in both recipes. The difference between a Black Russian co*cktail and a White Russian is that the White Russian co*cktail includes the addition of cream. Both include vodka and coffee liqueur.
I think the addition of the cream — giving it the white appearance — makes the White Russian co*cktail visually appropriate for serving during the winter, especially during the holidays. But by using peppermint vodka, you can create a festive Christmas co*cktail that is great for everything from enjoying while watching Christmas movies to serving to guests at a holiday party.
Ingredients Needed for Peppermint White Russian co*cktail:
- Vanilla Frosting (1/8 Cup)
- Crushed Peppermint Candies (1/4 Cup)
- Kahlua Coffee Liqueur (1/2 Cup – 4oz)
- Peppermint Flavored Vodka (1/4 Cup – 2oz)
- Half and Half Cream (1/2 Cup)
- Ice Cubes (6-8)
