Overview

Power deadeye focuses on the use of dagger and rifle. The build revolves around marking a target for assassination with Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (2)Deadeye's Mark, and striking it to generate 7 Malice to regain initiative and get lots of boons, most notably permanent 25 Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (3) Might and Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (4) Fury. That Malice is then consumed to empower the Stealth Attacks Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (5)Malicious Backstab or Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (6)Death's Judgment to inflict massive damage. The build makes frequent use of short bursts of Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (7) Stealth, has good mobility, and is very fast paced.

Its main downside is that it has extremely low amounts of cleave/AoE damage, and is relatively fragile.

Skill Bar

Weapon Variants

  • Always keep a shortbow in your inventory should you need it for tagging events.
  • You can replace either weapon with Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (8) Staff for more AoE damage if you have unlocked Weaponmaster Training with Secrets of the Obscure.

Skill variants

Heal Skill

  • Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (9)Malicious Restoration - condi cleanse and huge heal.

Utility skills

Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (10)Shadow Gust provides both Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (11) Stealth and melee range Crowd Control (CC). Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (12)Haste is an offensive stun break. Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (13)Shadow Flare provides AoE damage. Other options can be considered should the situation require it.

  • Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (14)Binding Shadow - if you need boon removal. It also applies a good amount of vulnerability.
  • Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (15)Blinding Powder - defensive stun break with Stealth. If you're going to focus on using rifle, replace Haste with this skill.
  • Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (16)Scorpion Wire - very situational. Extremely good for pulling the bomb in Battle in Tarir south lane meta event.
  • Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (17)Shadowstep - amazing mobility plus stunbreak and condi cleanse.
  • Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (18)Shadow Refuge - long duration of stealth for channelling Hero Challenges.
  • Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (19)Signet of Agility - if conditions are a problem, though its passive precision is not needed due to Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (20)Keen Observer.

Elite Skill

  • Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (21)Dagger Storm - a 4 second evade.
  • Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (22)Basilisk Venom - strong crowd control if there are allies nearby.
  • Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (23)Shadow Meld - stealth, good option if you're going to focus on using rifle.

Specializations

  • Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (24)Invigorating Precision - a little bit of sustain.
  • Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (25)Silent Scope - if you're going to focus on using rifle.

Trickery

When fighting large groups of trash mobs that die before you can even build 7 malice, you should replace Deadly Arts with Trickery and Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (26)Maleficent Seven for Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (27)Be Quick or Be Killed.

You gain lots of boons when using Deadeye's Mark, and it refreshes after killing the trash mob so you can use it again, ensuring a high uptime of these boons. Obviously, triggering Maleficent Seven is better than this, so only use this playstyle when enemies die so quickly that you cannot reach 7 Malice.

Equipment

Ascended gear and stat infusions are not required; you can use exotic gear with the same stats.
This set uses gear similar to Daredevil - Power DPS, making it excellent for general PVE.

  • Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (30)Relic of the Deadeye is also a great option for more burst damage.
  • You can use Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (31)Relic of Zakiros to trade a minor amount of damage for sustain, Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (32)Relic of the Cavalier to start combat with boons, or Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (33)Relic of Durability for a little extra defense.
  • For defense, equip the highest tier Jade Core you can afford. Use defensive food, traits, or skills if required. If necessary, use Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (34) Knight trinkets.

Usage

General

This build focuses on marking your target with Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (35)Deadeye's Mark to build 7 Malice and assassinate them with Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (36)Malicious Backstab or Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (37)Death's Judgment. Every attack that you make against a Marked target generates 1 Malice, and 1 additional Malice if the attack is a critical strike, so this build really wants to have 100% critical chance. Thankfully, Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (38)Keen Observer and Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (39)Twin Fangs help with that. Marking the target is extremely important, not only to start generating Malice with your attacks, but also because you deal increased damage to them, and take less damage from them, thanks to Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (40)Iron Sight. Killing the target refreshes the cooldown of Deadeye's Mark thanks to Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (41)Renewing Gaze.

Reaching 7 Malice provides a plethora of boons through Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (42)Maleficent Seven, most notably Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (43) Might and Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (44) Fury. This synergyses amazingly well with Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (45)Premeditation. You also apply a few conditions on your enemy through Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (46)Serpent's Touch, Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (47)Lotus Poison, Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (48)Wild Strike, Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (49)Lotus Strike, and Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (50)Dancing Dagger, which synergyses with Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (51)Exposed Weakness. This trait becomes even better when playing in groups, as nearby players will be applying more conditions to the enemy.

This build makes frequent use of Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (52) Stealth, for short durations, to deal damage with the very strong stealth attacks Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (53)Malicious Backstab or Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (54)Death's Judgment. Your sources of stealth range from stolen skills used above 5 Malice, to your utility skills and your weapon skill Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (55)Cloak and Dagger. If you're going to focus extensively on using the rifle weapon, consider using the trait Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (56)Silent Scope and the elite skill Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (57)Shadow Meld for more stealth.

Damage

Dagger/Dagger

  • Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (58)Malicious Backstab is your highest damage ability, but it can only be used from Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (59) Stealth as it is the dagger's Stealth Attack. Always strike from behind and build some malice (preferably 7) before using it to massively increase its damage.
  • Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (60)Dancing Dagger is your highest damage skill and best malice generator against enemies above 50% HP.
  • Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (61)Heartseeker is your highest damage skill and best malice generator against enemies below 50% HP.
  • Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (62)Cloak and Dagger to gain stealth to use Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (63)Malicious Backstab
Rotation opener
  1. Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (64)Deadeye's Mark
  2. Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (65)Dancing Dagger X3 (if above 50% hp) / Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (66)Heartseeker X3 (if below 50% hp)
  3. Stolen Skill
  4. Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (67)Malicious Backstab
  5. Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (68)Dancing Dagger x2 (if above 50% hp) / Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (69)Heartseeker X2 (if below 50% hp)
  6. Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (70)Double Strike -> Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (71)Wild Strike -> Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (72)Lotus Strike
  7. Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (73)Cloak and Dagger
  8. Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (74)Malicious Backstab
Loop
  1. Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (75)Dancing Dagger x2 (if above 50% hp) / Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (76)Heartseeker X2 (if below 50% hp)
  2. Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (77)Double Strike -> Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (78)Wild Strike -> Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (79)Lotus Strike
  3. Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (80)Cloak and Dagger
  4. Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (81)Malicious Backstab
  • When Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (82)Deadeye's Mark comes off cooldown, use it when you enter stealth, then use Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (83)Malicious Backstab and continue with the loop.
  • Be careful not to use Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (84)Cloak and Dagger while Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (85) Revealed. That's why the rotation includes an auto attack chain.

Rifle

Rifle features the same damage as dagger. It can attack from 1500 range, but has no AoE damage. However, bullets pierce so with good positioning you can attack multiple targets at the same time.

  • Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (86)Death's Judgment is your highest damage ability, but it can only be used from Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (87) Stealth as it is the rifle's Stealth Attack. Always build some malice (preferably 7) before using it to massively increase its damage.
  • Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (88)Three Round Burst - is your highest damage skill and provides Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (89) Might
Rotation opener
  1. Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (90)Kneel
  2. Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (91)Deadeye's Mark
  3. Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (92)Three Round Burst X3
  4. Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (93) Stealth
  5. Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (94)Death's Judgment
Loop
  1. Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (95)Three Round Burst X3
  2. Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (96) Stealth
  3. Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (97)Death's Judgment

Sources of stealth

Mastery of this build requires management of your sources of Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (98) Stealth, which are the only way to fire your Stealth Attack to reset your initiative. While dagger/dagger has that covered with Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (99)Cloak and Dagger, rifle will require you to use other sources of Stealth.

  • Stolen skill - casting your stolen skill while at 5 Malice or above will stealth you for 3 seconds. As we're using Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (100)Maleficent Seven, try to use it only at 7 Malice. In long fights, make sure to use the stolen skill before Deadeye's Mark becomes available again, as stolen skills do not stack.
  • Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (101)Shadow Gust provides 3 seconds of stealth. Low priority as you might need to use this for CC. Requires valid path to target to cast. Note that this will Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (102) launch your target away, so when using dagger/dagger make sure to run behind them before using Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (103)Malicious Backstab.
  • Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (104)Silent Scope should be considered if you're going to focus on the rifle weapon. With this trait, dodging while wielding a rifle stealths you for 3 seconds. As it has no cooldown, this is only limited by your endurance, and this build has permanent Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (105) Vigor. Nevertheless, remember to save at least one bar of endurance to dodge incoming attacks.
  • Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (106)Shadow Meld should be considered if you're going to focus on the rifle weapon. As it has 2 charges, this is the first stealth skill you want to use. The first charge will recharge as you still have access to a second charge should you need it.

Notes

  • Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (107)Death's Judgment inflicts Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (108) Revealed when cast, so it will always make use of Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (109)Revealed Training.
  • Try to stay above 50% health to benefit from Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (110)Keen Observer and Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (111)Twin Fangs.
  • When fighting bosses in a group, try to attack from behind to benefit from Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (112)Twin Fangs.
  • If using Action Camera, they keybind "Look Behind" can be used while casting Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (113)Death's Retreat to quickly and seamlessly jump forward.
    • if you don't use action camera, you will have to stop running, turn your character, cast the skill, turn the character again, and resume running. The keybind "About Face" can help with that.
  • Use Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (114)Sniper's Cover to destroy dangerous projectile attacks like the volley of arrows from the Tengu Hero Point in Auric Basin.
  • Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (115)Death's Retreat deals damage before teleporting. If you are in Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (116) Stealth, it will reveal you.
  • Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (117)Death's Judgment and Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (118)Malicious Backstab will only deal their bonus damage from Malice against the Marked target. Marking target A and building 7 Malice but then using the Stealth Attack on target B will not consume Malice nor deal bonus damage.
  • Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (119)Deadeye's Mark lasts 30 seconds and has a cooldown of 25 seconds. Make sure your target is always marked.
  • Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (120)Death Blossom can be used as an emergency evade.
  • Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (121)Dancing Dagger bounces between enemies. When fighting groups of enemies, be careful not to Stealth too soon after casting it, or the dagger will bounce and reveal you before you can use the Stealth Attack.
  • Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (122)Heartseeker is a leap finisher. If you leap through a smoke field, you will gain 3 seconds of Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (123) Stealth. If it strikes anything, you will be Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (124) Revealed, which will ruin your rotation. The pistol/pistol thief from Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (125)Thieves Guild can create a smoke field, so watch out for that.

Defense

This build severely lacks defense, and relies on killing enemies before they can deal much damage.

  • Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (126)Invigorating Precision provides okayish sustain, especially since this build has permanent Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (127) Fury.
  • You have several sources of stealth, which allow for repositioning or disengaging.
  • Remember that you can always kill enemies with Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (128)Skirmisher's Shot while running away, and they won't even come close to you.

Crowd Control

  • Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (129)Shadow Gust
  • If you need more crowd control you can use Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (130)Basilisk Venom, or Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (131)Scorpion Wire, or Build:Deadeye - Power Deadeye (132)Prepare Pitfall.
